AI Agent Cost in the UAE: Setup and Monthly Prices (2026), a guide by Applify Lab

For an AI agent built properly for one workflow, mid-market UAE providers publish AED 10,000–25,000 to set up, up to about AED 50,000 when it connects several systems or channels, plus about AED 1,500–5,000 a month to run it (2026). Your channels, your systems and your volume decide where you land.

Key takeaways

  • Budget from a mid-market range, then let the scope decide. Your channels, systems, languages and volume move the price inside it.

  • A chatbot shows a menu; an agent answers and completes the task. What you pay for is the connection to your calendar, customer records or store.

  • Connections set the setup cost. Each system the agent reaches adds work, more than the choice of AI model does.

  • The monthly bill has four lines. Model usage, WhatsApp messages, hosting and the provider's support; some fees include the first three.

  • A quote you can budget on names every line. Send each provider the same brief, and compare what each quote covers before you compare prices.

AI agent cost in the UAE: a self-serve platform, an agent built for one workflow, or a system across departments

Each route puts the work in a different place: with your team, with a provider, or across your departments.

How much does an AI agent cost in the UAE?

Mid-market UAE providers publish AED 10,000–25,000 to set up an AI agent for one workflow, up to about AED 50,000 with several systems or channels, and about AED 1,500–5,000 a month to run it.

A workflow here means one job done from start to finish, such as answering price questions and booking the appointment, in Arabic and English. The range comes from three UAE providers' published prices and guides, from May to July 2026.

What the range covers:

  • AED 10,000–25,000 to set up an agent for one workflow, connected to one or two of your systems. One provider's published bands give AED 10,000–20,000 for this, and another's guide AED 8,000–25,000 (July 2026).

  • Up to about AED 50,000 when it connects several systems or channels. The same bands give AED 20,000–35,000 for an agent across several systems and AED 35,000–50,000 for complex ones (July 2026).

  • About AED 1,500–5,000 a month to run it. A Dubai provider's guide gives AED 1,500–3,000 a month for an AI chatbot, covering model usage, WhatsApp fees, hosting and maintenance, and AED 3,000–5,000 for an agent connected to a CRM (May 2026).

What sits outside it:

  • Entry-level offers below about AED 8,000. One provider's guide describes its offers at that level as chatbots that answer your top questions and can't act in your systems (July 2026), so we leave them out of the range.

  • Builds for large companies and regulated sectors. Systems with several agents across departments, or regulated work such as compliance monitoring in banking, start much higher: one provider's enterprise price list starts at AED 55,000 and passes AED 1.5 million (October 2026).

A self-serve platform is the other route. You pay a monthly plan fee plus Meta's charges, and your team sets up the agent and keeps what it says up to date.

These are market ranges; Applify Lab scopes every project after a diagnosis. A fixed price before we know your channels, your systems and the questions your customers ask would mean selling features you don't need, or leaving out the connection the agent depends on.

Chatbot or AI agent: what are you paying for?

A chatbot shows options from a menu; an AI agent understands the question and completes the task, which is why an agent built for you costs more to set up.

Our AI agents page shows the difference with one question. A customer asks a UAE clinic's WhatsApp bot the price of a dental filling: the bot asks for a language, shows a ten-item menu, asks for a branch and ends with a link and a thank-you, and the question is never answered. The agent gives the price range, offers two available times and books the one the customer picks, in one conversation.

The chatbot moves the work to the customer; the agent completes it.

What setup involves

Menus and menu paths

A knowledge base (your prices, policies and hours, written for the agent), procedures and connections to your systems

How it is kept up

Updates to the knowledge base, with unanswered questions flagged to your team

Providers use the two names loosely. Some call an agent that books an "AI chatbot", so ask what it does: whether it answers in the customer's own words, and whether it completes the task in your systems.

Meta now offers its own agent inside WhatsApp. Meta charges USD 2 per million tokens, the small pieces of text an AI model reads and writes, for its Business Agent; it puts a typical message at 20,000–25,000 tokens, about 4–5 US cents, covering both the AI and the delivery, with no free messages (Meta for Developers, checked November 2026). Going live needs Meta's terms accepted, onboarding, a payment method and some technical settings; without a knowledge base and connections, it answers from your business's existing information in general terms and can't act in your systems. Our guide to the WhatsApp Business API in the UAE compares Meta's agent with one built for you.

What drives the setup cost of an AI agent?

How many of your systems the agent connects to, and how easy they are to connect, matter most; your channels, languages, volume and the sensitivity of your data move the price too.

One UAE provider ranks the number of systems an agent touches first, as the single clearest predictor of its price band, and whether those systems have documented connections second (July 2026). Another lists integrations first among the factors behind the gap between an AED 80,000 agent and an AED 800,000 one (October 2026).

Cost driver

What it changes

Connections

Your calendar, customer records system (CRM), store or booking system; the agent can act only on the systems it reaches

How easy they are to connect

Tools with documented connections keep the cost down; an old system without them pushes it up

Channels

WhatsApp only, or also Instagram, email and your website's chat; each one is another connection to build and test

Languages

Answers written and tested in Arabic and English, Gulf dialect included

Volume

WhatsApp charges and model usage grow with the number of conversations

Sensitive data

Health, legal or financial details need stricter design

Knowledge base

Your services, prices, policies and hours, written so the agent quotes them correctly

Handover rules

When a person takes over, who receives the conversation and what the customer is told

Writing the knowledge base is part of the setup. The agent answers from what you give it, so the hours your team spends writing down prices, policies and procedures belong in the budget. The same goes for the handover rules: Meta's WhatsApp policy requires a clear way to reach a person when you use automation, such as a transfer in the chat, a phone number or an email address, and the agent has to be told when to offer it (WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, September 2026).

What does an AI agent cost every month?

The monthly bill has four lines: model usage, WhatsApp messages, hosting, and the provider's fee for support and changes.

What you pay each month:

  • Model usage. The company behind the AI model charges per token. Anthropic lists Claude Sonnet 5.5 at USD 2 per million input tokens and USD 10 per million output tokens (November 2026). Two UAE providers' estimates for a few thousand messages a month range from under AED 100 to about AED 1,000 (2026), because longer conversations use more tokens.

  • WhatsApp messages. Messages customers send you are free. A service message, a free-form reply sent within 24 hours of the customer's last message, is free for the first 1,000 a month on each business number and then costs AED 0.0576; a marketing message, such as a promotion, costs AED 0.2115 (Meta's UAE prices from 1 October 2026).

  • Hosting. The server that runs the agent; one UAE provider's example puts a small cloud server at USD 6–24 a month, about AED 22–88.

  • The provider's monthly fee. Support, changes and monitoring. In the mid-market range above, running an agent costs about AED 1,500–5,000 a month, and some fees include the three lines above.

Four lines make up the monthly bill, and only one of them is the AI model.

A self-serve platform bills differently. It charges a monthly plan fee, Meta's charges come on top, and your team writes and maintains what the agent says.

Is an AI agent worth it for your business?

It is worth it when the enquiries it answers bring in more each month than it costs to run, with the setup counted.

Customers expect to reach businesses by message: 73.3% of consumers across 22 markets, the UAE among them, prefer messaging when they contact a business (Kantar for Meta, 2025). The enquiries that matter are the ones that arrive after hours or wait too long for a reply.

The sum has two lines:

  • Revenue recovered a month = enquiries a month that go unanswered or wait too long × the share an instant answer turns into a booking or order × your average booking or order value.

  • Worth it when the revenue recovered is larger than the agent's monthly cost plus the setup spread over the months you plan to run it.

A worked example, with example figures to replace with your own. A business receives 20 enquiries a month outside working hours. If an instant answer turns 1 in 4 of them into a booking, at an average booking of AED 400, the agent recovers AED 2,000 a month, and it pays its way while its monthly cost, with the setup spread over the months, stays below that.

Count the time your team spends answering messages. Add up the hours spent each week answering the same questions by message. The person at the front desk stays; the agent takes the repeated written questions off their hands, and that time goes back to the customers in front of them.

How do you get an AI agent quote you can budget on?

Send every provider the same short brief, then check that each quote covers the same lines before you compare prices.

What to put in the brief:

  • The job. The one workflow to start with, such as answering price questions and booking appointments, and what a good result looks like.

  • Your channels. WhatsApp only, or also Instagram, email and your website's chat.

  • Your systems. The calendar, customer records system, store or booking system the agent must read or update, and which software each one runs on.

  • Your volume. How many messages you receive a month, and how many arrive outside working hours.

  • Languages and data. Arabic, English or both, and whether customers share health or financial details.

What to check in each quote:

  • What the monthly fee covers. Model usage, WhatsApp messages, hosting and support are separate lines; ask which are in the fee and which are billed to you.

  • What sits outside the price. Ask how changes after launch, a new channel and extra volume are charged.

  • Who owns the knowledge base and the setup. Ask whether you can take your content and procedures with you if you change provider.

  • How it hands over to a person. Ask to see what happens when a customer types "human", and who receives the conversation.

  • What it does when it doesn't know. It should say so and pass the customer to your team, and the question should reach whoever maintains the knowledge base.

  • Where customer data is stored and processed. The UAE's Personal Data Protection Law applies to customer data, the DIFC free zone has its own data law, and health data has its own law; our guide to AI receptionists for clinics covers the health rules.

  • What happens when the AI model changes. AI companies retire older models over time; ask who tests the agent on the new one and whether that is in the fee.

FAQ

How much does an AI agent cost per month in the UAE?

Mid-market UAE providers publish about AED 1,500–5,000 a month to run an agent built for one workflow (2026). Some of these fees include model usage, WhatsApp messages and hosting; others bill them on top, so ask which lines each quote covers. On a self-serve platform you pay a monthly plan fee plus Meta's charges, and your team does the setup and updates. These are market ranges; Applify Lab scopes every project after a diagnosis.

How much does a WhatsApp chatbot cost in the UAE?

A chatbot that answers set questions costs about AED 3,000–8,000 to set up through an agency, plus AED 300–800 a month, in one provider's guide (July 2026), and it can't act in your systems. An AI agent that books and connects to your systems starts around AED 10,000 in the mid-market. Meta's charges come on top: service replies are free up to 1,000 a month per number, then AED 0.0576 each, and marketing messages cost AED 0.2115.

Does a chatbot cost less than an AI agent?

To set up, yes. One provider's guide puts a chatbot that answers set questions at AED 3,000–8,000 and an agent for one workflow at AED 8,000–25,000 (July 2026). The chatbot shows options and links; the agent answers in the customer's words, books, checks orders and hands over with the conversation. Compare each with the enquiries it actually resolves.

Is an AI agent worth it for a small business?

It is when the enquiries it answers bring in more than it costs, setup included. Multiply the enquiries you miss after hours by the share that would book and by your average booking value, and compare the result with the monthly cost plus the setup spread over the months you run it. A business with few enquiries outside working hours may do better with fast replies from its own team.

What can an AI agent connect to?

Your calendar (Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly), your customer records system or CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho and others), your store (Shopify, Salla, Zid), payment links and your booking system. Each connection lets the agent act on real data, booking an appointment or checking an order, and each one adds to the setup cost.

Is there a free AI agent?

Not among the options we checked. Meta's own Business Agent on WhatsApp is charged on every message, at USD 2 per million tokens, and Meta applies no free messages to it. Self-serve platforms charge a monthly fee, and an agent built on your knowledge base and connected to your systems carries a setup cost and a monthly cost, as the ranges above show.
