Kiezchecker: Empowering Sustainable Urban Exploration

Kiezchecker, developed by Applify Lab in collaboration with PanUp UG, is a unique mobile app that allows users to explore local neighborhoods (or "Kiez" in German) with a focus on sustainability. Designed as an "Early-Adopter" app, Kiezchecker connects users with local, eco-friendly businesses and cultural hotspots. From trendy cafes to art exhibitions and sustainable shopping spots, the app serves as a digital guide for users looking to support and discover sustainable businesses and events in their area.

Challenges

In today’s fast-paced urban environment, many people struggle to find local, sustainable options that align with their eco-conscious values. The challenge was to create a digital tool that not only helps users discover new, sustainable businesses but also builds a community around shared environmental values. The aim was to foster awareness of local offerings and make eco-friendly choices more accessible.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Applify Lab developed Kiezchecker with a user-friendly interface and robust discovery features. The app includes a curated list of sustainable venues, events, and meetups across various categories, from lifestyle to culture and beyond. It allows users to save favorite locations, suggest new places, and connect with others who share similar interests in sustainability.
